The new book by Aleksi Haataja featuring his Kalevala-themed rap songs has now been published by Juminkeko!

During his civil service at Juminkeko, Haataja wrote some powerful Kalevala-themed rap songs. His lyrics brings to light the deep desires, joy, sorrow and contradictions of the characters of the Kalevala. Väinämöinen wants to leave Pohjola while Ilmarinen goes there for business. Lemminkäinen is not bound to any place but moves according to his mood and actions. Kullervo feels nowhere at home. Aino’s life is short. Many events that move the lives of these characters are presented by Haataja as thoughts and chains of thoughts.

Haataja’s lyrics dive deep into the Finnish spirituality and the reader will find themself thinking of their own life. Aleksi Haataja has created a great work of poetry.
